So today was such a great week my first real week in my new area!! This area is so freaking amazing the bishopric and the members are so strong and willing to do anything to help with bringing back the less-actives I mean anything which I will talk about more later in my letter. So also we have a bunch of investigators and less-actives we teach everyday we have a whole area for a day. Our area is pretty huge and we separate it into s littler areas for each day. They are called Golden City, Havier, and Muzon!! So I really love it here since like I said in my last letter we are the only elders in the ward so it makes it a whole lot easier. We get some members to work with us which is amazing.
So this week we had a amazing week just to let it be known we were able to have 23 less-actives come to church yesterday WAHOOO!!! That's a start of the fruit of our labors. So in our area we have a somewhat mix-up of rich/squatters. Just to let it be known the house of our bishop is even bigger than our house back home I was so amazed especially the fact that I have been only in the really super poor areas, it was a big surprise let me tell you. Also just too let it known since I'm talking about the bishop's house, I was able to eat something else that's a little weird, this week I was able to eat some CROCODILE!!! Yes I ate them crocs eh! It was so good no fat whatsoever just lean, super good food!!! Also we have a lot of nice province looking areas mostly in the Havier area. We actually have a mountain that we can climb and see all of Quezon City and just look at the nasty clouds of pollution just sitting around it bleh!! Makes me happy to be able to be out of there and actually get some fresh air I'm really needing it to maybe clear out my lungs a little I don't know!! So we actually had a freaking great experience this week with 2 of our less-actives one of them her name is Marites Gotera. Sister Gotera has had a hard time with life actually last transfer before I came here. Elder Gallacher told me that her husband was actually killed in a motorcycle accident last transfer and she just lost it. We are actually able to go to her and she has attended 3 weeks in a row now shes so strong even though that her husband died shes still going strong we try to visit her as often as we can with members to keep her going and to forget that tragic event. We also have a less-active called the Pesebre family which is the parents and three of their kids are members out of the five. The tatay(dad) is actively going to church, but the wife and kids are not why, well ill tell you we had such a great experience with them!! We taught them this week and the reason they don't attend except for the dad is that one of the daughters, Jennifer is bed-ridden she has been battling a disease she doesn't know what it is for over 12 years since she was 5 years old that is why she wasn't baptized. The only thing that she has been using is the cheap pain-killers that her family can afford, sometimes the family goes hungry, because of this but, I have yet to hear one complaint from any of the kids. That's why I'm so impressed with the people here especially those that aren't the richest people. The family is willing to go hungry for days just so that she, Jennifer is not in pain!! This week that all changed, we visited them twice this week, and talked to our bishopric if they could possibly could visit them, before we left them the first time, me and Elder Gallacher gave Jennifer a blessing that she will overcome all and that she will be healed and that her family will overcome all!! Yesterday we went to go visit them, but actually stopped to see our bishopric coming out of the house, talked to them and they said that we will have a immediate ward council meeting, to talk about our struggling members. We had it yesterday after church and right off the back talked about what we are going to do to help them. Then the bishop announced that he will be dropping 5,000 pesos to help that family and Jennifer go to a real hospital, and get the real medicine and to be able to know whats killing her. Every person in the ward council except use of course said the will be willing to drop some money to help that family not only with their daughter, but so that they also get to eat real food!!! I cannot describe how blessed it was to see how much the members here really do care about their members enough to drop money for them when them themselves are actually not as rich as some there, but were still willing. This ward is so amazing here I honestly really want to stay here a long time really hoping!!! I will tell you more about this in my next email and the situation. I'm telling you guys the Lord does work miracles around the world, and I'm so happy to be able to experience these things as a servant of him here in the Quezon City Philippines mission. I'm loving life, my companion is out of this world I'm happy to be able to be in this area with him two seasoned missionaries in a huge area really excited for this transfer I love you guys!!!
